You follow the signs to the taxi rank outside the arrivals terminal. You join a queue — which in high season can be 10–20 minutes. You get into whichever taxi reaches the front. The vehicle quality varies. The driver may or may not speak fluent English. The meter starts running.

Variable. A typical taxi from CPH to central Copenhagen costs approximately DKK 250–350 (€33–47) in normal traffic. In heavy traffic or peak periods, this can be significantly higher.

Verdict: Reliable in the basic sense — taxis are always available. But variable pricing, queue time and inconsistent vehicle quality make it a second-tier option for anyone who values their time or comfort.
Option 3 — Uber
Uber operates in Copenhagen but in a significantly more restricted form than in many other cities. Denmark has strict regulations on ride-hailing services. In Copenhagen, Uber functions as a metered taxi app rather than a traditional Uber service — drivers are licensed taxi drivers using the Uber platform.
The Price
Comparable to a standard Copenhagen taxi. There is no significant saving over a regular taxi in most cases — a common surprise for international travellers expecting the cheaper Uber pricing they know from London, New York or Amsterdam.

Option 4 — The Train (Metro)
Copenhagen Airport has excellent rail connections. The Metro (M2 line) runs directly from the airport to central Copenhagen — Kongens Nytorv and Copenhagen Central Station — in approximately 15–16 minutes, 24 hours a day, every 4–6 minutes during peak hours.

A single ticket costs DKK 36 (approximately €5). A 24-hour travel card costs DKK 130 (approximately €17) covering all zones including the airport.
