What Is Nyhavn?

Nyhavn is a 17th-century waterfront district stretching from Kongens Nytorv to the harbour, lined on both sides with brightly coloured Baroque and Rococo townhouses. Historic wooden ships are moored permanently along the quay. Hans Christian Andersen lived here at number 20, 18 and 67 at various points in his life. Today it is one of the most visited waterfront districts in Northern Europe.
